Project Description

A new partial interchange on I-205 at NE 18th Street was constructed on this project including a system of on-and-off ramps/frontage roads on both east and west side of I-205 between the Mill Plain Interchange and NE 18th Street. The new northbound off-ramp and new southbound on-ramp at NE 18th street provides congestion relief and improves safety along I-205 around the existing Mill Plain Interchange as it will give drivers a new option to I-205.

This project included improvements of the existing NE 9th St and NE 18th St bridges by seismically retrofitting the structures, construction of a new three span 560 ft. steel girder on-ramp bridge founded on drilled shafts with a cast-in-place deck, concrete barrier and BP Railing, 23,775 SF of sounds walls, 38,800 SF of SEW Walls, 24,500 SF concrete fascia walls, soil nail & soldier pile walls, cast-in-place differential barriers, traffic barriers and moment slabs, cantilever sign structures, illuminations system, intelligent transportation system, traffic signals, stormwater conveyance system and treatment facilities, grading, concrete surfacing, HMA paving, striping, signing utility relocation, and roundabout.
